Human Resource Manager- NW Health Services
Description
The HR Generalist will run the daily functions of the human resources department including enforcing company policies and practices, performance management and payroll.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Assists in the compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Process semi-monthly payroll, and prepares quarterly and annual reports.
- Serve as a backup for new hire orientation
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field required.
- At minimum of 3 years of employee relations experience providing coaching and conducting workplace investigations.
- A master’s degree in human resource management or business administration is preferred.
- A SHRM-CP, PHR, SHRM-SCP or SPHR is preferred.

An exciting opportunity is available for an HR Business Partner at our St. Joe Altec facility. Reporting to the HR Reginoal Manager, this position will support the team in designing, planning, implementing, and administering human resources programs for Midwest Operations.
The HR Business Partner is the primary HR contact for several operations within the Midwest facility. Managing programs, policies, associate relations, training, and support to Altec Midwest and Altec teams by participating in special projects. This position may also have direct reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary HR contact for associates & supervisors in assigned business units
- Implements and administers HR programs, including performance affirmative action and employment equity
- Ensures company compliance with federal and state laws
- Plans and develops curricula and materials for training programs and conducts training
- Provides input to management for the resolution of associate relations issues and investigations
- Conducts or directs internal investigation. Consults with corporate attorneys as necessary to address difficult legal compliance issues
- Serves as a confidential point of contact for associates to communicate with management
- Participates in unemployment hearings with state government and third-party administrators
- Advises managers and associates on state and federal employment regulations, benefit and compensation policies, HR procedures etc.
- Conducts or directs exit interviews and ensures that necessary employment termination paperwork is completed
- Assists in preparing and maintaining HR records
Must have the ability to:
- Professionally communicate at all levels from front line to senior leadership

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree required (business or human resources discipline preferred)
- 5 years of experience in Human Resources
- Applicable Masters counts as one year of experience
- 2 years Supervisory exp
- Excellent computer skills required; Prefer Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Oracle, and/or Kronos experience
The job level may be adjusted at time of hire if the candidate meets the qualifications for jobs of a more experienced level in the career path.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- HR Certification (HRCI/SHRM) preferred
