    Program Description:

    Discuss the big picture of employer sponsored healthcare- past, present, and future.  The future of private exchanges and Mercer experience as a provider.  Exchange benefits including: Reduced Costs, Simplified Administration, and Empowered Employees.

    1. Understand past healthcare climate
    2. Changes associated with ACA for today’s healthcare strategy
    3. Understand private exchanges and how they fit into current and future healthcare strategies

    Presenter Information:

     Mark Whiting, Principal Employee Health & Benefits, 

    Mark is a principal in the Health and Benefits business in Mercer's Kansas City office. He has over 25 years of experience in the design, funding and administration of health care and group benefits for employers of all sizes and industries. Mark's areas of expertise include employer health care strategy, plan design, plan funding, vendor management and carrier negotiations.  Prior to joining Mercer in 1986, Mark served as an underwriter for a major insurance carrier, with responsibility for renewal and new case underwriting, new product development and management of account executive cases. Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa. He is past president of the Greater Kansas City Employee Benefit Professionals Association and is a Kansas City Compensation and Benefits Association. Mark is a frequent speaker on human resources related subjects as well as contributor to local health care news stories.

    HRMA of Northwest Missouri is recognized by SHRM to offer 1.5 Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP.
